Samsung this week announced two new additions to their smartphone range with the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Fold.
The new S10 comes in three model variants
The S10 is the latest in the Galaxy S range and, like previous flagship models, is a device at the forefront of mobile tech. The S10 will be one of the first 5G handsets to hit the market, and with 5G set to roll out this year, will be ready to take advantage of the fast new data speeds.
The S10 comes in 3 different models, the entry level S10e, the S10 and the higher-spec’d S10 Plus. Although all the models are different sizes, they all follow the similar new design language with an edge-to edge display and a clever camera punch hole. Unlike the latest iPhone models where the notch protrudes from the top, Samsung have developed the notch to sit subtly within the screen, giving a greater immersive user experience. That’s not the only impressive feature about the S10 display. With a QHD+ screen, the screen quality is extremely good, and with a new in-screen fingerprint sensor, unlocking the phone is quick and easy.
One other new addition to note is the phones Power Share facility. Power Share allows you to charge other Samsung devices such as the Galaxy Watch or Samsung wireless headphone simply by placing on top of the S10. A very handy feature for when on the go with no access to a power source.
Samsung have also come to the market with a brand-new bit of kit in the form of a foldable phone/tablet. Its one of the most powerful (and expensive) smartphones ever produced with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. More impressive though is the fold-able screen technology. It’s the first of its type to hit the market after prototypes were teased by a number of tech firms last year. The phone is able to fold out and reveal a 7.3-inch tablet. And with six cameras on board, it's a device not lacking in features. The Samsung Fold is at the higher end of the market with the launch price expected to be in the region of £1,500.
