Samsung quashed swirling rumors of an 'all screen' device in New York last night as they finally lifted the lid on the Galaxy S8 . True to the whispers, the tech giant unveiled a bold new design, doing away with the home button we've become so accustomed to, paving way for a revolutionary wrap around AMOLED display.
The S8 devices will be available in two different models, the 5.8 inch S8 and the flagship 6.2 inch S8+. Don't be discouraged however by the different dimensions. Both handsets boast the same punchy processing power thanks to an Exynos 8895 chip, which Samsung say delivers 10% more oomph than the previous S7 model.
What sort of business functionality can we expect from the device? Well, with 64GB of internal memory it is ideal for storing data on the go and the new Android Nougat software means that emails and applications will be even faster.
The most significant development for business users, however, is DeX. This new feature allows you to plug your S8 into a monitor, along with a mouse and keyboard, giving you a PC-style user experience straight from the handset. Don't expect high-end laptop power, instead, this feature is ideal for on the go remote working with the benefit of travelling light.
Apart from the camera department, everywhere else on this device seems to boast significant enhancements. The powerful new chip means that working from your device will get a lot faster which in our opinion can only be great news for business users.
